I wouldn’t classify this room as scary, but it does have a creepy feel to it and it’s dark the whole time, as the name would suggest. I played this with my partner and 4 strangers, which I think was too many people. The problem was that the room was pitch black and they only gave us one flashlight, so there was no way for more than one or two people to really be doing anything at a time. Other people couldn’t even really be helping by looking elsewhere in the room because it was so dark. Instead of making the puzzles challenging to solve, they just made it inconvenient. If the lights had been on, I’m guessing we would have gotten out in less than half the time. To me, that’s just a cheap and easy way to make something seem difficult without having to try very hard. This room isn’t quite at the bottom of my list, but it’s certainly not anywhere near the top. I played this room while on vacation in Denver, so I don’t know what else is in the area, but I’m sure you could find a better room to play.

I really wanted to like this room, but the dynamics of it just don't work unless you're in a private group. The room is so dark that you can't see unless you have a flashlight. But there aren't enough flashlights for everyone so you're at the mercy of whoever has the light.
